Get active in libraries
Get active and be healthy! This is the message for the Library Service Plan for 2012-13, which is currently being prepared. This year libraries will be devoting its energies to supporting the Council’s priority to make Cheshire West and Chester an altogether better place to enjoy healthier and more active lifestyles.
There will be two main strands of work being planned: a year-long campaign to ‘Get Active’ through events in libraries promoting simple forms of exercise, and a ‘Health Information Week’ running from 8-13 October, during which libraries will host displays, stands, drop-in/taster sessions and talks aiming to help people find accurate and appropriate information about many different aspects of health.
Success will be monitored through quick and easy ‘before and
after’ event surveys, and there may be a performance indicator
associated with the results.
