Wraps come off Chester's City of Culture 2017

Dancers holding hands encircling Chester's historic walls is just one spectaular in a rich programme of events promised as part of Chester's bid to become UK City of Culture 2017. Cheshire West and Chester Council have taken wraps off their initial bid and it has been published online on the Chester 2017 website as massive support is revealed on Facebook, Twitter and messages left on the website.
Competition to find the best dressed shop window during May Races

dress their shop windows to impress during the May Races has proved
a winner.
Organised and supported through Chester Renaissance, the
competition saw 21 entrants with the winner receiving their award
at Chester Races.

Council's free Chester driver awareness event a success
Cheshire West and Chester Council recently held a free Driver Awareness Briefing designed to provide information and advice for all types of motorist in Chester.
The event, organised by the Safe and Sustainable Travel Team, took place at the Cheshire County Sports Club and was available to everyone, from company drivers and those who use their car to commute to work, to those who have held a license for many years and may only drive in their local area or occasionally for leisure.
