Cheshire West and Chester Council, Chester Renaissance and partner organisations are committed to ensuring the city is well maintained and new opportunities for business, investment, culture and leisure and tourism are encouraged in Chester.

The city remains the principal economic centre in the borough of Cheshire West and Chester, with a well-established service sector with a cluster of banking, financial service and insurance sector businesses and employment.  

Employment in this sector has expanded rapidly since the early 1990s, predominantly driven by strong growth at the Chester Business Park on the outskirts of the city centre.
