Volunteering

It is often the generosity of local people giving their own time and commitment through volunteering that means that many voluntary led organisations, groups and clubs are able to deliver projects and hold events and activities that make a real difference in our communities.

If you are considering becoming a volunteer and need some information and help identifying volunteering opportunities, or are considering providing volunteering opportunities, please visit the Chester Voluntary Action website.

Beanstalk

Beanstalk is a national literacy charity that recruits, vets, trains and supports volunteers to work in primary schools with children who have fallen behind with their reading. Our vision is a nation of confident children who can read and grow up to lead successful lives. We are currently looking for volunteers in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire and Cheshire and would like you to consider volunteering for us. Alternatively, you may wish to pass our details to someone you know, who might wish to volunteer for us. To find out more information or to apply:

Archaeology volunteering

If you would like to get actively involved in archaeology, have some time free during the week and are able to make a regular commitment, then you may be able to take part in our work. No previous experience of archaeology is necessary. This is also an opportunity for archaeology students to meet some of their course requirements for practical work.
