Ellesmere Port hosts coffee morning to promote Fairtrade goods

Cheshire West and Chester Council has hosted a special coffee morning at Ellesmere Port's Trinity Methodist Church with local residents to celebrate Fairtrade Fortnight.

Mayor of Ellesmere Port, Councillor Pat Merrick, and Costa Rican coffee farmer Gerardo Arias Camacho spent the morning discussing the importance of Fairtrade goods with more than 70 local residents who attended the event.

Parklands BMX track officially opens

A state of the art BMX track in the Parklands area of Ellesmere Port is now officially open following a special celebratory event.

The £170,000 project's completion, which has also seen major improvement works to the green space's footpaths, is the result of a number of years of work led by the Council's Our Place team in partnership with Groundwork Cheshire.
