Take a twirl on the dance floor to celebrate Older People's Day
28 September 2010
A Cheshire West and Chester Councillor has organised a free Tea Dance to celebrate Older People's Day on Friday, 1 October.
Older people across Cheshire West are invited to take a twirl on the dance floor at the belated celebration, which will be held at Chester Town Hall on 20 October 2010 from 2pm to 4pm.
Councillor Pat Lott, the Council's newly appointed Older Person's Champion has organised the event as one of her first tasks in the role.
Residents will be able to take a trip down memory lane at the tea dance, which emphasises this year's theme for Older People's Day "becoming and staying active in later life."
Councillor Pat Lott said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for older people to get together, meet new people and try something different."
Live music at the event will be provided by Steve Sound and tea and coffee will be available for a small charge to support the Older People's Network.
