Walk 4 Life National Walking Day on Sunday, 26 September

13 September 2010

Walks are taking place in Chester, Northwich and Ellesmere Port as part of Walk 4 Life, a national campaign which aims to get people active and lead healthier lives.

The events are organised by Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Sport Development and Ranger teams, NHS Western Cheshire, Age Concern Cheshire, and local Walk Leaders.

Councillor Richard Short, Executive Member for Culture and Recreation said: “All walks will be accessible to all and the aim is to get as many people as possible walking at each venue on the day, to raise the profile of walking and the various different walking opportunities available throughout the Borough.

“No special equipment is required but it’s recommended to wear a comfortable pair of shoes or trainers and be dressed suitable for the weather conditions on the day.“

There will be an opportunity to win a bicycle donated by NHS Western Cheshire paid for by the Chairman’s Discretionary Fund, as all participants involved in the Treasure Hunt events will be entered into a prize draw.

Booking is not essential, simply turn up and enjoy the day. For further information please contact Sports Development on 01606 288559 or email
