Major £1.2 million road improvement scheme for Winsford

A major £1.2m road scheme begins in Winsford on April 29 to improve the traffic signal junction of the A54 High Street and Dene Drive in the town centre.

The works, which are programmed to finish at the end of August, will involve providing additional lanes and in conjunction with new, re-phased traffic signals, will greatly improve the flow of traffic through the junction.

RAP team zap litter hotspot

A litter hotspot in Whitby Lane, Winsford has been transformed, much to the delight of local residents.

Cheshire West and Chester's RAP team (Respect Action Programme) in conjunction with Cheshire Probation Service spent two days cutting back undergrowth, litter picking, removing fly-tipped rubbish and strimming.

Apprentices for the day

As part of the sixth annual National Apprenticeship week (11-15 March), The Skills Junction in Winsford hosted an Open Day to give people he change to visit the centre and see what Apprenticeship opportunities were available.
